I've been wanting to revive my long-dead blog for quite some time now, having abandoned my original "Battery Ranch" blog on blogspot about 10 years ago. But the things I wrote about back then feel a little pedestrian to me now, and I didn't want to diversify my blog into multiple personal/professional entities the way that much of my online social media presence is.

In other words, I can only sustain one outlet, and I wasn't going to establish it until I knew exactly what its mission was and whom it was meant to serve. Yes, my perfectionist tendencies are often the enemy of what otherwise would have surely been "good enough" posts over the years.

Back when I was writing the first time around, I always produced posts that I intended that my core peers, friends and family could and would appreciate, albeit primarily only in the entertainment space. I've been told on many occasions since my college days that I have a way of making complex technology easy to consume for the layman. If this is the case, then I think the potential value and readership volume may be far larger than I originally thought, as our society moves with increasing speed toward a potential technology singularity.

I intend for both my personal and professional circles to find value here. I will write about everything from information security to coffee technology to video games as the mood strikes. I will always endeavor to keep it interesting and even entertaining, of course.

I hope you like it.
